Is Secrets of Fashion a store or service?

A combination of both! We accept clients at our physical private location by appointments. During their visit, they can shop while they are assisted and styled by Farrah. Our store’s inventory is for Ladies.

Where are you located?

Our private boutique is located in Potomac, Maryland.

What should I expect from a consultation session?

A relaxing, pressure-free private shopping experience!

Our boutique has excellent lighting, approachable fixtures, and comfortable dressing rooms. First, you will be offered a beverage of your choice to enjoy, from different kinds of tea to a glass of wine or champagne. Next, Farrah will spend some time getting to know you. For there, if you are willing, you can try on a variety of clothing and accessories.

The process of determining the best and suitable looks for your lifestyle and needs is collaborative. Together, we will discover your style. That is why Farrah wants you to take your time and make sure that you do not feel rushed through the process. All the looks that you try on will be photographed in your own phone for your future reference and inventory purposes.

Can I bring a friend with me to the appointment?

Yes, of course you can bring a friend. We recommend that you select your shopping buddy carefully. You are visiting a professional to guide you through the styling process, please make sure to give the experience a chance.

What kind of inventory is available through Secrets of Fashion? What if I want something not in the store?

Farrah takes pride in carrying a unique inventory that you cannot find in other stores. She believes today's women are too busy to worry about changing their look throughout a single day. Secrets of Fashion mostly carries fashions that can take you from work to your evening by simply changing a jacket or accessories. Farrah believes in articles of clothing that can be washed at home without losing their color and shape. Our inventory covers all the outfits you’ll need in your closet, even special occasions. If we don’t have what you’re looking for, we will search through our network and order it for you.

Do you Style men? Teens?

Yes to both!

Farrah has a large number of male clients who hire her to style them. While she does not have an inventory for men, she shops at the other stores for them.

Farrah works with some teens who are the children of her clients.

What is the charge for a Styling Service?

Styling services are complimentary if you are shopping from our inventory. If you choose to hire Farrah to shop outside of Secrets of Fashion, there will be a charge. Most clients prefer to shop from Secrets of Fashion inventory because we have direct access to many fashion markets and we can find and order what our clients desire.

do you accept walk-ins?

No. We are by appointment only.

Are virtual appointments available?

Absolutely! This is a very popular and successful part of our business.

Is there an obligation to purchase something for each appointment?

Absolutely not. Farrah does not want her clients to shop for something that they do not love or need. We will always happy just to see you and we do not expect you to shop at each visit.

What information do you need to understand a client?

Farrah's approach to learning about a client is very different from other personal stylists. She does not believe in standard questionnaires. Instead, she likes to learn about her clients as they work together through conversation. At the start, there will be only a couple of generic questions that would apply to your work and personal lifestyle. Farrah believes that she must learn every client’s individuality. She works to bring them to their comfort level first, then the information will flow naturally.

How long is each appointment typically?

The time for each appointment varies, as some people need more time than others. Most first time appointments are between 3-5 hours. As you work with Farrah, appointment times will become shorter. Almost all our clients have said time flies during their appointments because they are having so much fun!

What is the price range of your inventory?

Our price range is moderate and less than most boutiques in Washington DC Area.  By keeping our overhead low, we are able to pass on the saving to our clients.  Because of Farrah's extension experience with designer brands, she has an eye for finding high quality look without the high price tag. 

Do you do alterations?

Yes! We have a master fitter on the premises. We accept alteration from outside as well.

Do you do tailor made clothing?

Yes! We have a master tailor who can make the most beautiful clothing from scratch.
